Three days after Ethereum hardfork we see that situation is balanced. Exchange rate goes up to its "pre-war" value.
It is interesting to consider different approaches to hardfork in Bitcoin and Ethereum communities. After one year of debates about block size in Bitcoin, there is still no clear decision about hardfork, at least on visible level. Ethereum hardfork is excellent example how to reach consensys in highly polarized community. Miners, investors, exchanges, developers - groups with different economical interests, found solution and conducted successful hardfork. Ballast out and up!
So, on the Bitcoin side we have real immutability, while Ethereum has shown excellent ability to adapt to changing situation. So we can say that Bitcoin is analog of gold, while Ethereum - dollar. They do not compete.
I cannot say anything useful about Steem yet - just two weeks as I knew about its existance. But it's cool and interesting thing. Just throw ballast out and go ahead.
