Ethereum: Twins war

First day of real competition: Ether against Ether Classic (no-fork version)

After 3-days silence, the biggest crypto-exchange Poloniex started trade with BTC/ETC

The trick was that everybody who had ETH wallet at Poloniex in the fork time, now has equal quantity of ETC. So many ETH holders got their free BTC today - their ETH are safe.

Current rates BTC/ETC here: https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_etc

I can easily understand ETH holders (I'm one of them). But there is considerable volume of ETC bought for BTC. This I cannot understand.

There are rumors that Bitfinex will add ETC Monday.

We'll need popcorn next several days!

I 100% agree. It seems like madness to me. If ETHC wins, it's because the whole thing is less valuable. Seems like a bad bet to own it.

I don't like etc because there are too many noisy trolls in their subreddit. But ETH devs are quite tolerant - soon there'll be Parity client for ETC. After all there is pair BTC&LTC.

We'll see. Without dapp support, the chain has no value EXCEPT as a currency like BTC. And BTC has 100x the value. It's just in a tough spot.

Exactly. ETHC has so much to overcome -- everything challenge Ethereum faced (scaling, proving out smart contracts, fending off other currencies and new projects) AND a huge amount of complicated technical issues because of Ethereum's relative size and adoption. And no real dapps will build on it. But we'll see. It's crypto. Anything is possible.

Good news. Now time to move on and hopefully have a period of stability.

Unfortunately I haven't wallet at Bitfinex. Whatever, Bitcoin will win. I turned free ETC to BTC
Next several days I'll learn Steemit
