The Old Dog Asks Himself: Am I Really Doing my Own Personal Hard Fork 19?

in hardfork •  7 years ago  (edited)

YES! All good things come to an end! In life we need to be flexible! Most of us have heard these expressions but it was time for me to put them into practice.

Announcing a New Reward Program And The Results From June 2017!

For the past 5 months I have been running my program: "The Old Dog is Throwing You a Bone" in which I reward the best comments on all of my posts with SBD bonuses.

Between this, Steemgigs and other gifts I have been able to give away over 1,000 SBD since the program's inception. This month I reached an all time record of 284 SBD as reported below!

Why am I Changing The Program And How Will it Work?

  • Hard fork 19 has made my votes have a lot more power!
  •  I have over 40,000 Steem Power and this enables me to give NICE rewards to my followers who comment!
  • Even a 1% vote by me will give you 16 cents but I will give most commenters a lot more!
  • All of my comments from those who vote on the post will get an upvote!
  • The best comments on my posts will receive higher rewards!

Now, Here Are The Results of My Program For June 2017. Total: 284 SBD

very good project, Oldie! this is pretty useful for the community, as the old "bone" project was! :)

Thanks Good Strong Paul!

I am also enjoying the ability to give fellow Steemians a little something with my Up votes. Before HF19, all my votes were 100%. Now I have developed a new strategy that lets me up vote as many times as I want, while keeping my voting strength high.

I am doing 20% votes for posts and 10% votes for comments. I also do either 50% or 100% up votes for the occasional special post. Those 4 slider points make sense for me, and achieve my goals without being overly complex.

It's great that we now have the power to come up with plans like this, since we now have more effect on the reward pool. I've been Very Happy with HF19!

It sounds like you have a great strategy!

If everyone focused on helping each other it would help Steemit as a whole. Sometimes when there is money involved the greed factor takes over. Here on Steemit three are many altruistic members and that's nice!

So true!

Yes, we have to spread love! This is one of the differences between Steemit and Facebook.
The more love we spread - unconditionally, without expectations - the more we get from other people.

One of your questions is "do I like the changes of HF19." Before I say too much, let me give my conclusion - it is really too early to make an accurate assessment. Ok, now that I have that out of the way,... to be honest, I'd like this place to have a set of parameters that we can plan around. Or another way to put it, I'd like to spending way more time on content and way less time on figuring this shit out. ( Sorry, the 2nd cup of coffee hasn't kicked in yet ). With HF19, there are a completely new set of 'strategies.' Perhaps I should find some entertainment in that, but I'd prefer something a tad more consistency. The overall concept of HF19, which correct me if I am wrong, was a redistribution of power. Don't we have a history book or two laying around that indicates that's not always such a great idea?

To quote @aggroed, from his post Reward Pool is under 1Million Steem - - - "The percentage of the reward pool seems to have increased on the top accounts. Trending is mostly the same faces, but now those faces get an even larger portion of the pool. That can't be good. Like the world needs another mechanism to shove rewards to the highest earners."

Do I enjoy having more 'power?' No, not really. At the end of the day, in reality I'll have the same amount of 'power' as I did before. The reward pool is being drained at an alarming rate. Perhaps before it's over, we'll return to the same amount of power as before HF19, we'll see.

Sorry for the little rant, I 'never' do that - LOL

To repeat my conclusion, "it's too early to make an accurate assessment.

I sense in your response a concern for other members and I like that! You seem to be doing very well with your posts and so a good way to share success is upvoting comments. When I wrote "power" I meant that your vote adds more rewards than it did before. Now go and drink that second cup of coffee! :)

That's funny. Ok, I am the third cup now and all is well

It's a really truth! Great comment @gringalicious! (;

i think you drank more coffee and caffeine hit you but its true that its too early to conclude anything.. let see what will happen..

My....aren't you a generous old dog....I wish I was married to you....oh wait!....I am!!....lucky ol' me!!!

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

hahaha! What a joker! Lot's of fun traveling through life with you!

You are a very lucky person! :D

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Hello! Congrats for the sharing initiative! I personally think that HF 19 has good points as some weaknesses. It's good if we do use for share more and if we give more to those we think they deserve. But if our main goal is auto-upvote or upvote only few profiles at full power we'll consume all the power soon and it remains just the crumbs for the others. In long therm this will be Steem-destructive....

You bring up some good points. A key is to find a niche and then grow a group of supporters. I think that in your case there are many artists that should be able to help one another. Keep up the great work @airmatti

For me the HF 19 was a tragedy! I'm doing steem power down yet, because I didn't gain nothing else with my posts in the last months, and I must have to pay my bills. I see that the big fishs are so more big now, and the little fishs are disapearing (like me).);

Wow sorry to read that! I value you my friend!

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Thanks my friend! Me too! Don't worry my Old Friend, for me it's indifferent if I gain money or not, because I enjoy what I do and the Steemit community! (;

You're a great Steemer!

Thanks! (;

Old dog always doing good things. Love it man. Seriously your reaching out to people like this is what makes this platform so amazing. Thanks for being a good human.

What a nice thing to do. I didn't knew about this. I will participate this month as well!

I don't wanna be picky right away though, but shouldn't it be the results of June 2017 instead of July 2017. Typing error ;)

Your right about it being June and for spotting the error you get an upvote at 20% my highest of this thread!

Haha thanks! Wasn't ment for money purposes. Just for a heads up but I really appreciate it! So again, thanks :D

Excellent advice @kus-knee and practical ways to help. We all do better when we practice those techniques you had cited and use. Thank you for teaching us. I know I have a lot more to learn and I consider you one of my instructors.

Oh, and yes, I have upvoted you 100% and just love what you're doing. Hope you have a magnificent day!

Wow @terrybrock that is a much appreciated comment!

You bet! Hope you have a great day, kus-knee, you old dog you! Cheers!

I am new here and struggling beyond belief to understand everything. My conclusion is that I probably won't make anything here but I'LL do my very best to support and encourage my friends. Thank you for helping people. My friends always come before me and that's how I like it.

Hey @guarddog! Wow what a great name! Focus on having fun and helping others and I'm sure that you'll do well!

Thanks, I am!

Congratulations @kus-knee I have been lucky enough to receive gifts from you which I am very thankful for. I am still getting used to my voting power, I don't want to run out so trying to give everyone I upvote something, Its nice to have little extra power now, enjoy your success :)

Thanks so much @karenb54! It's good to see you building something here with your blog!

Thank you @kus-knee :)

one thing that bothered me after HF19 was some people got obsessed with self-voting, I do that too for my posts, and I don't hold back on upvoting valuable contents at all, if we stop abusing self-voting, HF19 would be a more pleasant change on the platform.
and thank you for sharing your rewards with others.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Yes, you bring up some good points @meysam. Finding a good balance between rewarding yourself and others is important.

2.6.17 50 SBD @tonyr second prize

Thanks again @kus-knee! Myself and @ionlysaymeep were very pleased to win second place in one of your great contests. :)

You are a fantastic member of our wee community and I have received a reward from you in the past for commenting on another great post. You help keep this place positive my friend and it is very much appreciated by the rest of us.

Thanks again!

I really appreciate your kind words and your thankful attitude helps to spur me on!

Thanks again!!

Are you enjoying your new found voting power?

Yes I am. In fact, I want to learn how to convert my SBD into more Steem Power.

Do you like the changes with hard fork 19?

Yes, although I am not completely sure yet. I was getting more votes per viewer before. Are people voting less now? I have been sick and not posting as much, so that could be part of it.
I also earn more when I post about my being a 9/11 responder but I can't dwell on that too often.

Do you notice that you are making more on commenting than ever before?

Yes, I do. I have told my new friends that have joined to post less blogs and write genuine comments more until they learn how this site works. I hope to bring more quality users to Steemit. I hate seeing new users give up. Commenting might be a way to keep them Steaming on until they (and I) build bigger followings. In 7 weeks I've learned a lot and I thank you once again for being one of the main reasons I am not giving up!

Great to read of your progress and glad that you are better and ready to post more. 9/11 responder wow! Please send e the link as I missed that yone!

Edit: On second thought. Please let me know where I should send you a link. I just woke up and wasn't sure if it was okay to share it on your wall.

40,000+ SP wow!
@kus-knee, you are one of those that when we, the lettle fishes see i this big ocean of communication, we have hop that hard work pays. its about consistency and good posts. i wonder what will happen if 40,000+ SP votes on my posts that are gradually picking up cents... i dere also to imagine what will happen if he resteems and follows :0 speechless. keep up the good work sir.

@arizonawise

Its quite nice to see the Old Dog evolve with the platform. I am enjoying the changes, however many of my fellow Steemers need to avail themselves to tools like Steem Now to manage their voting power better. Use your sliders folks lol. There are so many that are constantly in the 10-20% range!

Giving this a shot for the first time! I've been following you, but first time i a while i have seen your posts.. Maybe since I cleared up my massive following list I can see good content again. Looking forward.

Glad you found me!

The new right to vote is a good thing and gives new Steemians more rights. I myself am very satisfied with it. For me and many other users, the HF 19 has been a success.

Good to read your positive comments!

It is too much bitched because some forget that it is not just about money.

I try never to be motivated by money and then it comes.

My english comes from google. What I meant was money is not important. Although I started here to afford the entertainment for my daughter.

You have a great way of thinking

I once recieved 1 sbd from you. And that was awesome!

And with an upvote on your comment I can do it so easily now!

That's one of the pros of HF19 😉

This is a creative way to get people to follow you. Nice.

Both that and it's a great way to spread wealth around.

Always up for a good cause. :) We need more old dogs. :)

I don't why exactly but lately I have been coming across some amazingly generous people. The people who understand community issues and are willing to help out. And I just found you. I can name many here but that's not the point.

The point is; I believe in Steemit and Steem Blockchain more than ever before. Seeing people like you is a refreshing experience and being a minnow feels less bitter now. Hard fork 19 has caused the community to change in many ways; positive and negative.

I am glad to find you as the latest positive. Keep being awesome and thank you for understanding and helping. My blog is full of issues being faced by the Steemit community but now it is becoming full of solutions and hopes.

Thank you so much! There was no reason not to upvote your post. This is the first ever I saw and I hope to read more from you.

I really appreciate your kind words and what you say about there being many generous people here is right on!

I think HF19 has changed the way people vote. Smaller accounts that haven't achieved 500SP can only vote 15 times a day or their vote power will be sapped and won't recover. This has made quite a few accounts a bit more stingy on upvoting versus pre HF19. I find my posts receiving the same number of comments, but fewer upvotes.

The threshold for the sliding scale needs to be lowered to accounts with 200SP to remedy the situation.

This is a point that I have never considered! I see that you are over the 500SP marker. Well done!

Thanks @kus-knee. It's nice to have quality mentors like yourself in the community.

Amazing to see people investing in others rather than upvoting. Only themselves.
This s a great initiative and id love it to join in othe fun.
10.000 sbd is a lot 😍.
Cheers from me and I hope you continue doing good for this fine community as it really does deserve it.

Thanks so much @vangelov!

ill do this too if ever i grow? haha

Give it time and be consistent! You'll do great!

i wonder how much sp to a 1. upvote =D cuz mine give .01 form .6 +27 delegation points
is the delegated points good for a short time only?

I believe that you have only 10 votes at full power. Once you have 500 Steem Power you will be able to use the slider to change the percentage on each vote.

I saw your profile page and you had me fooled for a moment! 100,000 followers!

100000 followers | 34561 posts | 23453 following

me too when i forgot i posted that it maked me troll myself too haha
thanks cuz i wonder how some doing the % upvoting

very nice by the way your dogs are cool

Thanks man!

i want to have one soon =D

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

I'm glad that you are enjoying the giving spirit of your more powerful upvote!

Thats very generous of you

Appreciated!

Q: Are you enjoying your new found voting power?
A: I am new and have a small account still my vote gives 1 cent.
Q: Do you like the changes with hard fork 19?
A: Yes of course, I can see the change in earning of a post by one cent when I upvote.
Q: Do you notice that you are making more on commenting than ever before?
A: Yes, when my comment is upvoted, I get more now than before.

Thanks for your nice answers and say a big hello @mathworksheets and @nba05!

Thanks This is really kind of you.

Steemit is an even nicer place when we help each other!

This is really kind of you. This is the reason steemit is such a great place to be. People like you improve and grow the community by helping others and supporting them. Together to the top !

Thee are a lot of wonderful givers here!

Interesting work kus 284 it's a great amount

Yes man we can get better results working together

This place is a lot of fun!

thanks @kus-knee I appreaciate! :D

these are some impressive numbers-gratulation to your milestone

Let's keep on moving towards success as a platform!

Just upvote your post. followed and resteemit as well . thanks

Thanks so much. Enjoy Steemit and keep on blogging and having fun!

you are welcome

Ok, so I just leave a comment and you make me rich. Am I doing it right?

Not quite but we must apply the old adage that "every journey starts with the first step!"

LOL, ya right. And I guess I have taken my first step!!

And your second!

"old dog is throwing you a bone", i am wondering what exactly are we............

It's meant in a nice way. I'm the dog! :)

Human race which we are part of is in middle of two possibility, top is to be god and lowest is to be an animal, choice is fully in our hand , what we will choose or what we have already chosen just a first step to that destination.
I am also saying this in a nicest way but i really don't care if some one agrees with it or not, because truth is universal doesn't need support.
And please don't upvote this message, just read, feel and ask youself, what is your choice!!!!!

That is all a subjective assumption. All lives are equal with respect to consciousness. And if you really believe in the concept of the God, then all are its own Creation. So humans have no moral right to discriminate among various creatures. I don't know on what basis you consider animals to be lowest. Don't be speciesist. Just spread the love. God can't be so discriminating and nothing of His Creation can be less than perfect.
Love 😍

I am talking in respect of conscious level, god element present in every thing and everywhere. Words have limitation in expressing your true feeling , they can't describe exactly a simple taste properly left alone a GOD.
I am not a speciesist, but in respect of conscious level stones etc comes at lowest level, then plants, blood species like animals or birds, then human and for this conscious level we are on top of food cycle.
Yes love is everything, no denying in that, but i wrote previous message in other context, which is a choice...
so i m not offending anybody and i think my answer to you may clear that....

Agreed, words do have limitations and my expression too is not perfect. Aside that there is a difference of opinions and perceptions.

For me consciousness is same across all beings but they may differ in levels of their sentience. Inspite of all these, humans are not a superior being and they are certainly not on top of the food cycle. I hope you would find following link somewhat helpful:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/alexberezow/2013/12/03/humans-arent-at-the-top-of-the-food-chain/#5ea3230d386d

P.S.:

No offense meant on any account. Thanks!

Right after HF19 I was like a kid that had just been dropped off at a candy store and given free reign. I hit everything with a vote. I was drunk with power. Then I checked my Voting Power...40%!!! I killed it, took me a whole week of restraint and minimal voting to get back up. With great power comes great responsibility lol, or at least a little judiciousness with who gets a full vote until my slider came around!

Hahaha nice experience. Yes its not like it was explained thoroughly at the top of every page. We figure it out as we go along!

Throw out a boomerang, and comes back a rocket, must be nice :d

What a great analogy!

That sounds interesting, you have got a new follower. I am new here, don't know much about steemit. Trying to learn by following those woh are helping others to grow.
Upvoted and resteemed! :)

Welcome to Steemit. Read, write, comment, engage, learn and earn!

Thank u so much for the suggestions :)

Did it

I see that!

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

I have been blessed by your generosity on multiple occasions, which is a huge bonus on top of having the opportunity to get in on your engaging posts. It's fun to see all the comments on your posts. Just reading them all and commenting is quite an investment...and then you bless us more!

I like to make a lot of comments and share my power around. It's great to have risen to a place of actually seeing a difference when I push the upvote button! I particularly like making a well-thought out comment over a "great post" kind of generic comment, and I love that you provide the opportunity to interact.

When I read "JULY" on your post I thought I had missed a month already--I'm often in my own little world and I lose track of how fast time goes by the calendar count. WHEW!! It's still only June! Thanks for the jolt! EDIT: NO WAY---it IS JULY!!! I'm lost in the vortex!

Thanks also for the recent bone your threw my way. I appreciate your contribution!

Thanks for the visit! Yes writing July was a brain cramp by me! Another member pointed it out and I've corrected it! :)

So we're not the only ones who let time fly as it may. It's unbelievable that half of the year is over!! Wow!!

Your generosity is amazing, @kus-knee! It is people like you who create an amazing and genuine community here... what makes Steemit so much more than just "a collection of blogs."

The voting power thing is cool... what I have mostly found is that the wider range has inspired me to do far more "curating for quality" than I used to... using the slider to sometimes reward truly exceptional content with a well-deserved 100% upvote, "good" with something less... and "better than an empty space" with a couple of percent. That's a big plus. Of course... not as viable for our new arrivals... although I hear a rumor that the slider will soon become available at 125SP instead of 500SP.

What's also different is that I can give more meaningful upvotes to those who comment on my posts... everyone can get at least a 10c boost without my voting power burning out.

The ratio of what I get for comments vs. original posts has definitely changed.

Thanks for your valid input @denmarkguy. Yes the slider is a very interesting and helpful feature. I especially enjoy using in to reward comments! Still figuring it out though!

Indeed... and my brain is not as sharp as it once was, so upvoting a comment also leaves me a trail of little blue circles to occasionally remind me "Oh, I've been here before...." :-D

No, not kidding. It has happened.

We certainly need more project like this. Yes, certainly with HF19, noticing I am commenting more. However, I suspect that the days of HF19 are limited...

The only constant with these hard forks is change!

Sounds like a good change! Your vote has a lot of effect now huh! Mine increased nicely too, though nowhere near as high as yours yet :-)

I'm still trying to find a good balance between voting percentage and keeping my VP up. I'm erring on the side of caution for now. My 1% upvotes give atleast $0.01 now, so I can show a little appreciation to all of my commentors (except for the "Nice post, plz follow me" ones).

I don't make a lot more on commenting though. But I guess that's also because most high ranking members post about things I know next to nothing about, so I can't really contribute to their posts.

I have noticed a decline in the amount of votes I'm getting though. I still have no clue what brought that on (except for maybe the sheer number increase of posts).

You point to some interesting data. I really think that we are all still trying to figure this out!

I think so too! I've written a little something about it this morning and many people are pointing towards the HF and the fact that voting power drains much faster now. Newbies don't have the voting slider, so they're reluctant to vote as much as they used to (understandably). Others are still trying to find a good balance.

From me and my 9 months old giant malamute with love, send you the warmest regards and all the best things in life. :) we still have a long way to go! He's just 9 months. More fun and laughter to share. :)

By the way, he's name is Kobe. :) i sleep with him, eat with him and walk with him almost everyday.

Wooof!! Wooof!! Woooooof!!

What a beautiful dog! Thanks!

Youre always welcome. And thanks for sharing as well. :)

Good to note some changes in the reward program and there won't be any more bones on the plate. However the program has changed now, I'd like to let you know that this is my first comment on your posts and I don't wish to get rewarded with any bone from the old dog ....I'm a vegan, You know!

But yeah, Steem Dollars are hot! 😆

Thanks for your nice comment! Funny as well!

Well done @kus-knee upvoted and resteemed!!! This poem for your good mood:
Maybe who offended you, friend?
Lost something? Not formed relationship?
You do not find the strength to be courageous
And there is no pain in salvation?

Do not give up! It's not the time yet! Too early!
The sun will rise at dawn.
And I was bad in my life,
So appreciate every good word.

Thanks @bugavi poet!

Great project! Wish I could also do one like these in the near future!

If you have the desire you'll make it!

40,000+!! Old dog, you are practically a whale!!

Hahaha, a bit at a time!

Nice! Paying it forward! It is so nice to see. I dont have as much steem Power as you but I am doing my bit.

https://steemit.com/life/@whitedolphin/steemit-paying-it-forward-wisdom-comes-from-many-corners

You can get there! I earned the Steem Power a bit at a time!

Thank you!

Thank you for sharing this it really help me to learn more about what is steemit the reason i join steemit just to try like all the sosial media but from what i see steemit is more than just sosial media

Well, if you look at it as social media first that's a good thing. It's also a kinder form of SM plus there's the chance to earn something as well!

I haven't noticed more voting power but will comment more to get the full perspective. Love the Old Dog update!

Thanks so much for coming!

This is a kind effort @kus-knee. Steemit is not a time wasting definitely. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for coming!

Nice posts @kus-knee

Thanks a lot @marisu19!

The old dog does not need a Fork to eat...

True! I just put my snout right in the bowl!

you are very kind dog and even I am a cat person I really like you.

Personally I enjoy the fork a lot. It feels more rewarding.

I have noticed the votes on comments went down, at least it feels this way.

Even cats like me! Wow! Thanks!

Thank you for your effort to help us.

Congratulations and success!

Thanks so much!

Generous as always @kus-knee! I also like that hard fork 19 gave a lot of more power to all of us!

I'm glad that you're enjoying it!

Or is it an ODF 19???

May well be!

Great program, comments are as important as posts and can add great value. Kudos for rewarding people that actually read the post!

Thanks a lot @tinyhomeliving!

So I give you my 2 cents and you give me your 16. You listed some great rewards for your followers. There's a lot one can learn from you. Thank you!

Hey, most of us started at 1 or 2 cents!

I know. But it's nice to see someone who values their followers and encourages them. :)

You're one awesome dude! Thank you again! And I truly enjoy all your posts! Keep up the good work! 😉

Thanks so much @rockchickjen! What a great user name!

wow really kind person..thanks for giving it free..im also should participate in this..

Thanks for your comment!

Pretty cool. I had no idea you were doing this. EDIT: I also had no idea I wasn't already following you, so that problem's fixed now, too.

My voting power went from 3 cents at its max to just over $1 after the fork. So while this is a nice jump up from the former, it still barely feels like enough to make a difference. It's cool I can help someone pay for a soda from the vending machine, though. Couldn't do that before. Up until HF19, I was the equivalent of the few pennies you found in the couch cushions.

I have a few concerns about HF19 in general, and over all I can't help but wonder if it's just an experiment to see what happens. I wonder if the negatives outweigh the positives. When HF19 began, everyone was ecstatic and the onboarding was insane, but how long can that be sustained before any adverse effects start taking hold, if any?

You make some good points. I'm glad that you can add $1 with a vote. When I started it was max 1 cent! Ypu are correct in saying that we shall see. The only thing on Steemit that is constant is change!

Man.. I thought i was here just because of a good content.
But i think it's great what you are doing for community!)

I like your attitude about being here for the content. There are a lot of great Steemers who are doing so much for the community. The fact that YOU comment consistently adds a lot as well!

Very good and very useful concept for all steemians.thank you very much your kindly helpful others.keep it up post.GOD BLESS YOU.

Thanks so much. Blessings to you too!

Wel come sir.I'm waiting for your next valuble post.

I love the fact that I have more voting power, but my voting power depletes quickly, thus I cannot vote as much, it also seems as if I receive fewer votes than in the past, but the few votes have a good effect. Thanks for your initiative.

It is hard to gauge well how to use the power and we're still experimenting! You need to use your slider more often as well!

Thank you for doing this. That's very generous of you

It's a lot of fun!

I like the HF 19, now it makes sense to vote for someone. Yes, and it became much more interesting to comment :)

With pleasure I read your posts, of course upvote.

Glad that you're enjoying it!

hey old dog, just started following, i like your stuff so far :) instead of upvoting my comment here, would you instead upvote the next person you see on the new introduceyourself page? and if you decide you wanna do mine and theirs (you seem genuine so this is a possibility :) ), can you instead just do another newbie so they can see the benefits of Steemit :D

Please send me the link so that I get it right! I'm upvoting your comment anyway!

Thanks for letting me know!

Your Hardfork 19 is great! And thanks for the 5 SBD you sent! I'm going to write better and more thought-provoking, not always serious but funny comments.

I like your idea!

I sold my position from ETH because I was so excited after HF19, even though ETH was down too. Doesn't matter, I will keep buying on the way down or on the way up - Steemit is part of my life now just like Jerry Banfield says buy only what you would be married to in the long term!

You are a dedicated Steemer. Jerry Banfield is all in!

Thank you, I'd like to think so. I also wish I was on your level too @kus-knee and I enjoy your blogs as well. Have a nice Monday.

I do a similar thing on my posts, I always reward those who upvote and comment - it is a great way to interact with people and build followers :)

You are a wise snubber!

The fighting is fierce for a piece of the rewards pool these days, andthe one aspect of Steemit that gets forgotten about sometimes is the social part!

You're right. If we focus on enjoying the platform and helping one another the success comes as a bonus!

I'll start commenting on your posts ... :D

Good idea!

upvoted and followed..thanks mate i will also participate in this surely..

Sorry no cheating, just one comment per post! :)

Great idea. I was wondering when people would start to use more of their voting power in the comments. :) I love to be able to give more with my vote! How great is that! I take part in the collaboratve art journey by everlove (almost) every time and I love to upvote and resteem her post, because I do not only have fun but also support the eco-village @gardenofeden. Isn´t it awesoe? We can support charity by just beeing on steemit. I love it!

very good project

The Old Dog HF19

Sounds fair @kus-knee

Most of us are enjoying this new HF19 and glad to see you adjust to make the Steemit Community even BETTER!

I don't think anyone would sincerely disagree that you have done MORE than enough to HELP the minnows and newcomers.

We appreciate ALL that you have to give, especially your guidance and wisdom.

Keep STEEM N ON,
Frank

I really like your Old Dog footer image. That font's style looks great! What's the name of that btw?

Anyways, it's amazing how you can give a lot back into the community, guess that's the power of having lots of Steem (hmm, that's why it's steem power!). I'm trying to give back too, little steps baby steps. Soon, I'm gonna be like you. Thanks for the inspiration!

Upvoted also man! Thanks again!

Got you on the first one!

@kyawsantun

Do I enjoy the change? Not really to be honest. As a newbie I had 40 votes before, now I have just 10. And that goes really fast! They do have more power and I do see that, but so what if I can't upvote all the people I would like to... I would love to upvote comments, but I just can't. Or I actually can, but my vote will be worthless in one day ;)

The overall change is good I think, but makes it harder for the newcomers to start and reach the level of power when it becomes enjoyable to share it with others. It gives more flexibility, but only to the "bigger" fishes in my opinion. They can spread their votes as they please. And that is good, if they do that.

But hey! I am not complaining. I have my goal and I will get there.... eventually :D

Right on, I personally didnt like what HF did to my rewards, i just posted about this earlier today actually, but it has made people like you have more power to help the minnows!

Are you enjoying your new found voting power?

I am. And I'm not. I'm very frustrated that Steemit.com can't figure out how to give me a voting slider. I'm using eSteem a lot more these days when I go out reading ... and even for some posting. I realize that I only have pennies to play with but ... I want those pennies to be placed just as I want to place them. So, I've ended up not voting for a lot of stuff that I would have.

Do you like the changes with hard fork 19?

Apart from the above challenge, yes. I'm actually struggling much more with the dropping value of SBD. I have a post that someone(s) graciously caused to go trending. I've watched it lose over $100 SBD this week. :-( I think the hoopla at the exchange had a lot more to do is the drop in value than anything else.

Do you notice that you are making more on commenting than ever before?

umm let me go look. It's been vacation days here and I've not been out and about quite as much in the commenting arena. ......... EEK Definitely less! Definitely.

For me. I think there could be a few things in play. BUT the thing that is so obviously missing the little .01 and .02 payouts have disappeared. Which I am really rather certain goes back to us little Red Fish and a great many Minnows cannot use the slider and continue to toss .02 to our commenters. I know I have to make a special point to log in with esteem to toss those pennies. :-/

So. Short version. I could enjoy HF19 if I had a native slider payout option and if I could get people to Buy. More. STEEM! ... Not a problem. Both are completely outside my control ... lol ... So. off I go to make more friends. That part I am loving!
