Life's got no shortage of curve balls!
I live in a part of one of those hemispheres where it's not terribly warm outside right now. I'm fortunate enough to have walls and a roof, but not quite fortunate enough to altogether avoid HVAC malfunction. For the past couple days, amid the snow and ice, my heating system has been impotently struggling against the chill. Don't worry too much, I'll be getting it repaired promptly. Nothing like unexpected costs though am I right? Gotta love 'em.
I'm still very lucky though
It's times like these that bring to mind how many people face the elements and other hazards on a daily basis. I'm truly fortunate to have relatively steady access to water, electricity, internet, food, etc. etc. Many of our crewmates aboard this shared rocky spaceship are in a mortal struggle for the basic necessities of life on a daily basis. Even as I see my breath here typing, with hands to cold to play guitar, others are suffering far worse. Thankfully some are both willing and able to help. One such example of altruism on Steem is being enacted by @angelsofsteem. As someone who is disabled myself, their project to donate wheelchairs to the needy in Pakistan really hits home for me. It's good to see that for all the misfortune of this world some are still out there trying to help. My troubles by comparison are definitely minor, and I hope they are quick, easy and cheap to resolve.
Stay homeostatic out there!
