This is what Harris said in North Carolina re: her price gouging proposal fwiw. Still unclear exactly what she intends to do. It could just be anti-trust/anti-competitive enforcement at the FTC.
Most states have some anti-price gouging laws for emergencies, but they are pretty vague. Florida for example has one for state emergencies for price increases that are "grossly excessive" compared to prices before the emergency, but grossly excessive isn't defined. And if the price increases are due to cost increases from the emergency, then they are fine.
Devil is in the details, so I'll wait.
