Am I actually gonna kinda-sorta agree with Hasan Piker for the first time?

Am I and that douche finally kinda on the same page? Wow, I think so.

So, Piker made a fairly innocuous comment in regard to people boycotting the new video game set in the universe of Harry Potter. He just said that the boycott was useless, and people were gonna play the game anyway.

He's right.

He just didn't go far enough.

Again, anybody who is still beating this drum that JK Rowling is a transphobe is an idiot, or a liar, or both, and deserves to be ridiculed, and embarrassed, and shamed. There are no words that are mean enough to target at these people, and I know a lot of mean words.

I'm not necessarily, philosophically, entirely opposed to boycotts, at least when done as private movements. That said, I don't think I've seen a boycott in recent years that wasn't incredibly stupid.

Obviously, the boycott in question here is aggressively stupid. It's built from illiterate, credulous people who are somehow passionate about what an author allegedly thinks.

But, seriously, you morons who have been refusing to go to Chick-fil-A because the owner said that he doesn't support gay marriage. How many of you campaigned for Obama when he was saying the exact same thing? There's no evidence that Chick-fil-A ever discriminated against anybody in their actual business operations. You're just pissy that somebody has different values than you do. Last I checked, the business is doing fine, and your boycott is only depriving you of some kinda-sorta okay chicken and some awesome fries.

You know how you can discover that you're a douche? It's when you evaluate your behavior, and realize that you just consumed something that you enjoy, and that, as a result, you're going to dig into the personal life of the person who provided it for you, and audit their language, and give him or her a purity test.

I mean, sure, I was kinda happy when my favorite actor, the greatest actor of all time, Gary Oldman came out as a libertarian, I was also happy when David Mamet did the same; but, who the fuck cares? If Gary Oldman were walking around in a Che shirt, and defending Che's racist remarks, and his statements about how much he loves killing people, Gary Oldman would still be the greatest actor of all time, and I'd still see his movies. "Oh, an actor said some dumb shit. Start the fucking presses!"

Seriously, what the fuck do people think they're doing? The only people who actually get harmed by this bullshit are the little guys, the small businesses, the people that the leftists are supposed to be batting for.

Remember Memories Pizza? It was a small business that was run out of town because of your woke bullshit. They didn't refuse to cater a gay wedding. The owner just answered a hypothetical question from an unscrupulous journalist about whether or not they would do it if requested. I don't even know straight couples that would want pizza for their weddings, I doubt there's a gay couple on the face of the planet that would want pizza at their wedding; but, a bunch of you fucking morons decided to boycott them, not because of anything they did wrong, but because they didn't pass a purity test.

Anyway, people are dumb. Somehow, there are people in the world who are even stupider than Hasan Piker, and that takes effort. In order to be dumber than him, you pretty much have to have given yourself a do-it-yourself lobotomy, and you couldn't have been too smart to begin with if you did that.

Rant over. Have a nice day.
