The state Senate and House of Representatives are set to convene the 30th Biennial Hawaii State Legislature this morning at the state Capitol. This is going to be one of the most interesting, and contentious, sessions in recent Hawaiian politics. The reason for this is that many of the Legislators in powerful positions backed the opponent (Colleen Hanabusa) in the recent election for Governor David Ige. Some of the legislators have commented to the press anonymously saying that they will not support some of the Governor's appointees to his cabinet. This infighting in the Democratic party is going to be played out on the stage of the 30th Biennial Hawaii State Legislative session.
