The Legal Disputes Over the Phrase "Aloha Poke" Continue

The gist of the dispute is that an eatery in Chicago trademarked the name "Aloha Poke". I don't care if mainland firms use our local terms and phrases, but this firm then went on to use the legal system to send cease and desist letters to other eateries even ones in Hawaii to stop using the terms "Aloha" and "Poke".

I can't believe that a company that uses the word "Aloha" in its name would take actions which clearly violate the spirit of Aloha. It is all in the interest of making money. It is typical of how people come to our homeland and abuse the land, and its resources, all in the interest of money.

I hope people in Chicago boycott this restaurant that clearly is the antithesis of its name.
