"Happiness is the successful state of life, pain is an agent of death. Happiness is that state of consciousness which proceeds from the achievement of one’s values. A morality that dares to tell you to find happiness in the renunciation of your happiness — to value the failure of your values — is an insolent negation of morality. A doctrine that gives you, as an ideal, the role of a sacrificial animal seeking slaughter on the altars of others, is giving you death as your standard. By the grace of reality and the nature of life, man — every man — is an end in himself, he exists for his own sake, and the achievement of his own happiness is his highest moral purpose.

But neither life nor happiness can be achieved by the pursuit of irrational whims. Just as man is free to attempt to survive in any random manner, but will perish unless he lives as his nature requires, so he is free to seek his happiness in any mindless fraud, but the torture of frustration is all he will find, unless he seeks the happiness proper to man. The purpose of morality is to teach you, not to suffer and die, but to enjoy yourself and live."

Hey brother good to hear from you. Taking that time for oneself and trying not to let the mind run rampant are good practices. I'm glad you're doing well and taking time for yourself.

@kennyskitchen I can relate to most of what you said. Especially

I've been feeling a distinct lack of clarity about how I should be moving forward, which facets of myself should be my main focus... who I am.

I also have very little clarity around what I should be doing next, what role I should be playing, what I want now.

What the role we should have, is merely a construct of mind. We are programmed to have a role to play, or in other term a label to carry around, The difficulty comes when we try to dis-identify with having a role or a label, it feels as if we are going to be useless, unproductive. The mind asks; If you don't have a role then who are you?

Spiritually speaking; I believe that our desire to have a role is a reason of confusion and suffering as being spiritual is being rooted in the now with the very task at hand, not even identifying oneself as the doer.

Amazing persuading article.

Much obliged for sharing Kenny. @kennyskitchen

There are so many parts of this post that I could have written myself.

I too am at a point in life where I don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing with myself, but am intending to let the answer to that question unfold gently. I'm not pushing myself, but instead listening more deeply.

I've moved to a new location without quite knowing why I'm to be here. I'm spending most of my time just taking care of daily life while looking for opportunities to step into whatever it is I'm here for. Is it service? Is it learning? Is it connecting with nature to heal myself more deeply? Is it.... So many possibilities, but no clear indications.

The one thing I wish I could have written is:

When I first really started on this path about 5 years ago, one of the first things I did was to delete all of my old music, and only keep songs with words that I would want to be repeating to myself.

You're hardcore! I wish I could get myself to restrict my music to only that which attunes me to the vibrations I want to really create from. I don't listen to music that often, but when I do, half my music probably is pretty wistful or even sad. There is so much great music that's been created over the years that is the artist pouring out the depth of their appreciation for their own suffering. It is art. But it absolutely does not help me create what I want to create.

Dilemma.

We are made perfect only by the Grace of God since we cannot be perfect on our own. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Every soul is imperfect because it has not yet known the truth of unconditional love. The true Charity is not in the monetary form, but, in the spiritual and true love form. Hence, when our soul is transformed into our spirit by the pure wisdom that comes above, we are made perfect.

After that the perfection comes, and it does not leave us or forsake us. We thus, live only by the Grace of God for perfection and nothing of our own. The true spirituality is then, when, we learn to love unconditionally. Charity never fails and hence it remains perfect because perfection never fails.
