Emotional Healing And Connecting Deeply With Yourself

What is to be gained by that? A lot. This is about approaching your inherent power and wisdom residing in yourself, your dormant but amazing potential.

The seeming duality of body and mind

In truth, body and mind are not separate. We just THINK they are separate. This separation is not natural, in fact, dividing them it is quite unhealthy. The problem is, when body and mind are separated you can't be whole. This is not wholesome and can easily lead to an awkward life you actually don't want. Living "in the head", disconnected from your emotions and merely acting conceptually will definitely keep you in the dark about what you really want deeply inside, it will shut down your intuitive wisdom.

Actually we are longing for union, for non-duality. There seem to be many split up aspects in ourselves, many separations between ourselves and others but this is not how things are. This is an imputation of our minds, a habit of perception that became seemingly solid. Before we speak about approaching other people, there needs to be some deep healing inside. It is a process of unifying our mind, our body and emotions. It is a gradual process of merging the different aspects of ourselves into being genuine, truthful, intuitive and powerful in a good way. Actually this is the key to fulfilling many of our deeper dreams and longings. This kind of journey will make us whole and is truly rewarding in many ways.

Handling our emotions

Emotions want to be recognized, understood and felt. If we connect with them, feel them and be with them, then some deep healing can happen. This is like connecting to your female aspect in yourself. An emotion doesn't want to be ignored, it wants to be felt and understood in an open and non-judgmental way. There is a hidden wisdom in the emotion and if we allow the emotion to merge and unite with our being, this is actually something very precious and joyful and should be appreciated!

Suppressing and rejecting emotions

When an unpleasant emotion like fear arises, there is the pitfall of dismissing it as not reasonable, not wanting to see and feel it. The problem with this approach is that it doesn't work. A suppressed emotion like fear or an unfulfilled desire will not go away by itself. It will dwell in your emotional body and create disturbances until you come to terms with it. Furthermore, if you suppress something for a long time, dis-ease in the truest sense of the word will be the result.

Let me stress it again, suppression doesn't work! The emotion will use any circumstance in your life to pop up again and manifest in different situations. When we suppress it again, it will come up again, for sure, and next time possibly even stronger than before. So here we have a problem because the emotions will not leave you alone until you face them in the right way!

How to liberate emotions

  1. If possible, keep your spine straight but not rigid. This will create an auspicious condition for removing blockages and for energy to flow because the energy channels are straight.

  2. Breathe naturally, gently and deeply and slowly. Especially don't restrict your breathing to the upper part of the lungs but use your diaphragm. This is important because many suppressed emotions and blockages are located in the area of your (lower) belly.

  3. With an attitude of spaciousness, RECOGNIZE and acknowledge the emotion you want to work with. It might be fear, insecurity or a deep suppressed desire. When it comes up don't judge it. Give it space and understanding in a gentle and soft way. Embrace it in a non-dual way, like a lover and unite with it in a non-dual way.

  4. Breathe in and out, deeply. Especially when you breathe out, let go of tension and suppression.

If it is successful then you will feel some internal change. If the emotion has been resolved, then you will feel it. In that very moment you might feel a sensation of spaciousness, of oneness. A sensation of warmth in your belly, maybe even bliss. When you feel this, rejoice! You opened up your subtle body a little bit more. And through repetition, it will become easier and easier and you will increasingly feel the benefits in yourself and in your life.

The possibility of a different way of being

The question is, how much do we allow ourselves to open up and be truthful with ourselves and our emotions and to which extent do we manage to bring unresolved feelings and emotions onto the path. This path will definitely bring more fulfillment and happiness into your life. Keep in mind, nobody else can do it for you.

It is up to YOU to seize again what is inherently yourself, your bliss, your power and your inherent wisdom.

With the best wishes and hoping to see you again soon!

Totally agree with what you wrote, great post. Thank you.

Thanks for reading, I appreciate that we can share these topics!

It's good to see these fundamental truths come back, largely thanks to the Internet and the waning of absolutist religious structures.
Very well written post.

Thanks for your comment, I completely agree, we need to reconnect to our inherent intuitive wisdom residing in ourselves. Although we can and should learn from spiritual teachers and traditions, finally, if we don't want spirituality to remain on a conceptual and dogmatic level, we need to find and experience the truth in ourselves without the need of any mediator.

post good

Thanks, thank you for reading!

yes

Medication is definitely a great way to relieve stress.
We always have a 5 minutes session in our club activities when I was in high school

You mean meditation, not medication, I guess? ;-)
Yes, I agree, meditation is amazing and it helps me a lot as well. I might write a steemit post about meditation later. Thanks for your comment!
