“I love designing a figure into an almost, abstract background and making it speak out and be heard. Making the viewer engage with it by self-reflection.
Francis Bacon said, ‘The role of Art is to show Mystery’. That is what I am hoping my body of work will do, induce viewers to start exploring ‘mystery’ in their lives.
One of my favorite artists is Modigliani. He could express personality with so little effort; his figures did not have eyes and yet you felt you knew them.”

Eva Lewarne was born and raised in Poland and is currently living in Canada. She graduated from the Ontario College of Art. Among the many awards she received is a Grand Prix Medal in a Painting Festival in Avignon, France. Her art was shown at the Grand Palais in Paris and she has had exhibitions worldwide including a one-person exhibition at the Jadite Gallery in New York, NY. She has also exhibited in galleries in Paris, Barcelona, Italy and Toronto.
The artist has many collectors worldwide. She has pursued painting all her life and photography is her second passion.
Her series “Enigma” and “Illusion” are influenced by her many years of meditation practice in Zen and Tibetan Buddhism.
