My battle with allergies (2)

in health-status •  6 years ago

I started this post here, I talked about the black spots on my face and my failed battle against it. Annoyingly, it's dominant on just one side of my face.

I had an auto crash in October 2014 where I lost part of my left facial skin to the tarred road of Lagos-Ibadan express way, I was lucky, no blessed, I didn't have to do any surgery or grafting (I'm so grateful). The skin grew back and so the black spots are missing on the new growth, except the new self induced ones I got by always pressing my pimples (it gives me some kind of satisfaction though I know I'd have black spots, I just can't stop).

Back to my allergies, the large dark spots on my legs. I was not a gentle child considering the fact that all 8 of my cousins are male and they are older, wherever they go, I go. Whatever they do, I do. Trees climbing, rock climbing, fence jumping, kicking stones in place of football, running around, every other thing you can imagine a bunch of boys (think of me as a boy) doing. I got a lot of bruises and wounds just being around them, I guess they'd sometimes forget I'm a girl.

Those injuries always heal and disappear, yet I would see these black spots. I started paying close attention in my senior secondary school years (I felt I was a big girl already), I realized when I walk around grass or early in the morning where there are grasses, I start to itch. Painful, peppery itching. I would almost be paralyzed, uncontrollable tears would drop, the itching continues no matter how much I scratch until I get warm.

This still happens to me although I watch myself and my movement well now. I started reading about the possible cause of this as it also affects my sister and my mom said she had it when she was younger. This points to the fact that it could be hereditary.

I think this is a form of dermatitis but I can't be sure. Does anyone know what exactly it is and how it can be corrected? The pain is always unbearable when it strikes and there'll be times I can't but move around early in the morning or in bushy path.

Lolz... Alike in so many ways still!

I like pressing my pimples and I have some of them black spots on my face. Good enough, most of them have cleared up. Just a few stubborn one but I'm determined to scratch them off. Lolz!!

You had an accident? Never knew... So sorry dear.

I think Dudu Osun soap also helps a lot with the dark spots and pimples. I have been using it for sometime before I began noticing the reductions. Try it.

I used dudu osun for about 8 years....no change....my skin was just soft and fresh...the spots remained because it's from the inside

Most likely it is allergic dermatitis. Need a closure look. better to consult a dermatologist, face to face.

Hello!
What you have sounds like Allergic dermatitis. It's usually familial and seasonal. Worse during the rainy season.

Go to AIR-CLINIC APP and start a private conversation with the doctor to answer your questions.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll chat up a doctor.

i get a similar sensation after showers. I have read that the skin is irritated by a histamine reaction from the grasses. so having an anti histamine handy will help. you could also put rubbing alcohol on the parts that itch and rub it in. that will help soothe the sensation and clear the area of contanimants.

what is your diet like?

This brought tears to my eyes. I'm so sorry dear for what happened to you
Hope you find a cure soon, stay strong dear

Sorry you're going through such pain... My prayer goes out to you!

Maybe you should consider seeing a dermatologist.

Typical Nigerian diet. Veggies. Oil. Carbohydrates. Protein. Fruits. Water.

I do have such issue whenever I go to the bush too... I hate contact with most plants as a result. If I must go at all, all my body would be covered.
Sorry about the accident.

Im sorry darling. You need to see a skin specialist

I battled with dark spot for a while especially d ones dat appears after u burst a pimple...made findings and discovered some natural and home made method of curing these spot.
1-lemon juice:rub on a cotton wool and apply on affected spot then allow to dry after some time u wash it off.. Do this continuously.
-honey scrub: you can mix honey with sugar and scrub on affected area for 2 mins... The wash off d face u'll notice the smoothness.
Do these for 2 weeks and u'll notice a bright sparkling skin...
I did these and it's worked for me.

Sorry to hear this. I heard about many allergies but not this one.

I'll just re-post what I said in chat:

it's just that when a doctor gives you a diagnose they have to see you. There are subtle things they use to judge your health. Online advice will always be generic (and you need a specif one to your case.) So don't put too much faith into it.

I still recommend you do it. @air-clinic might offer a great help to you.
