So, on my 28 weeks of pregnancy I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes because my result did not pass the normal range for the glucose tolerance test (GTT). It was really hard to encounter this kind of problem when you are pregnant. I was referred by my OB to an Endocrinologist and I was given with a proper meal plan by a Nutritionist. It was especially hard to follow a strict meal plan when you are pregnant because in my case I’m always hungry and I always have food cravings. But, I tried my best to follow the meal plan in the best of my ability. A walking exercise for 15-30 minutes daily was also required from me and I also did them.

A family member also suggested that I drink okra water. So, when I went above my meal plan, I drink okra water in the morning. To make an okra water, all you need to do is wash the okra with water. After, they are completely washed, slice each piece into 3 parts and leave the slices on a clean drinking water over night. You should drink the okra water first thing in the morning right after you wake up and before eating your breakfast.

These practices work for me but I really believe that the okra water has helped me a lot in bringing my sugar levels to normal. I am a person by the way who does not eat okra but fortunately I can swallow its water and it is really not that bad.

I just thought that it is best to share this and I hope that it can help some pregnant mothers out there in any way with same conditions as mine.
