Illinois is expanding its work with State Bloccan, launched a trial program that aims to apply technology to the medical licensing process.

As reported by CoinDesk last year, the state unveiled a versatile blockchain and cryptocurrency initiative last November. The technology from Illinois has been brought under a multi-agency effort to explore the public applications, and while releasing new rules to start working with Cryptocouring.

Now, Illinois has partnered with Blockchain Initiative Hashed Health, focused on medical applications through a US-based blockquencer program, helping to see how this technology can help to issue and track medical licenses explicitly.

Program supporters expect creation of a licensed registry and medical credential-sharing system operated on the blockback, the smart notes automatically update the information. The final goal is to create a pure and transparent chain of records for patients and healthcare providers.

The latest news from Illinois is that the state officials are seriously looking at how to apply technology for real world problems. Illinois organized a month-long hackathon on Blockchain in June, and in the same month the government launched a Chicago-based block center.
