I hope that my exaggerated headline made you to come this far. Now, lets dive into our topic and my humble opinion about it.
Have you ever heard somebody say to you, that this thing is really good for you? By eating this you'll be healthy? I bet you have, just about a million times. The reason why I came across this topic is quite simple: I saw an article in my local newspaper stating that toasted bread can cause cancer, and the more you toast it the more you increase the risk. And I finally thought to myself: thats it. It is my time to tell the last, final, ending solution to all these surrounding facts that change every other week.
Example story:
"Did you know, that beer is healthy? Just take a pint after you train, and it works as a recovery drink. Remember, as they say, bananas are for monkeys!"
"The truth finally revealed: Beer is bad for you, after all!"
For all you know, I'm not saying that it is healthy or what ever. But what I do say is that people tend to forget what surrounds these stories and why they come to fruition. What is the most usual place you'll hear recommendations on how to live, love, eat, drink and watch out for the hangman? Thats right, you've guessed it, the MEDIA. Whether it is the tv, or magazines, blogs, lifestyle pages or what ever, the reason behind it is simple. What unites all of these?
MONEY.
There could be actual research on these things found in somewhere else than your tabloid, but people tend not to go that far. Also, what holds true is that facts tend to change: that is what science essentially is. It makes its best guess for the time being, and fixes it as new reality replaces the existing one. But, what these advertisers, tabloids and all do is to make more money. And the easiest way is to recommend something that they can easily buy, and sell after the boom for a triple price. If you think about it, how often do these food trends and recommendations last? Only a handful of them can survive for yet another day, and even those that do don't necessarily hold any scientifical evidence to back them up.
So, now that I've reminded you about the way one should look at every recommendation that there is, I'll go ahead and publish my one and only solution that should hold water.
It is as simple as this:
Everything that we eat, drink and so on, can cause free radicals to emerge, and lead to cancer. For a fact, they say that even the oxygen that we need to breath dissolves us at the same time. Neat, hey? But, how does everything produce free racidals that may ultimately lead to cancer? The reason why is that, as soon as we're born, our life is a slow process of dying. Every time you eat something, your body has to process and digest it. And, it is in fact in this very process that free radicals could be produced, while processing things that you've ate. So, after all there should be one fact that holds true: It doesn't matter as much that what you eat since nobody really knows if it is healthy tomorrow or not, and you should enjoy your life, but, the only thing you can do what will improve your chances of survival until the end is to EAT LESS. The less your body has to do, the less chances there are to develop cancer and other diseases. I'm not saying that one should stop eating, or starve, but one could do their temple inside a favor, and eat everything in reason.
This is what I believe in, the rest you have to figure out somehow. Correct me if i'm totally wrong!
If you somehow liked the logic, leave a comment or consider liking my stuff.
I'll go for a beer now, love ya'll! :)
