Peege's Top 7 Tips to Get Well Fast

7 wide.pngIf you saw my post, "Peege's 7 Top Tips to Staying Well," you saw my top seven tips and tricks for that. If I follow those, I don’t get sick very often. If I don’t follow them, however, and end up getting sick, then read on below to see my top 7 tips for getting well as fast as possible.

To make this easy, most of these tips are the most powerful supplements I have found through my research and personal experience, but resting, drinking lots of filtered water (Zero filter is my favorite), staying warm, and visualizing yourself healthy are also very important pieces to getting well fast.

Before you try what I’m doing, you should make sure you are consulting your qualified medical professional about getting well. And while you’re at it, run these supplements by them too, so you know there will be no conflicts with your specific health conditions or medications. If your doctor tells you they aren’t necessary, he/she is probably an MD who hasn’t done much research lately, so you might want to find a new, more progressive doctor (i.e., and ND or Functional Medicine Practitioner) who does actually research stuff on their own.

1.) Probiotics. The best source is fermented vegetables, like organic sauerkraut or kimchi, but you can take a couple capsules of a high-quality supplement every few hours. These feed your gut flora which makes up about 80% of your immune system.

2.) Vitamins. I take 1000 mg of Liposomal vitamin C every couple hours. I also take 20,000-50,000 IU of vitamin D3, with 200 mcg of vitamin K2. This might sound like a lot and some people might even tell you that could be toxic, but it’s much harder to get vitamin D toxicity the most people say, especially if you do this for less than a week.

3.) Bone broth has many “super nutrients” and minerals that nourish gut flora and fight infection. There is some evidence that a bone broth “fast,” where you eat only bone broth until you are well can be amazingly effective. I cook my own, using a crock pot, spices, and mixed veggies, so it’s more like a soup than a thin broth.

4.) Zinc. I take 15-30 mg per day. Viruses hate this stuff and bacteria strongly dislike it.

5.) Olive leaf extract. I just follow the directions on the bottle.

6.) Larch tree. I just follow the directions on the bottle.

7.) Oregano oil. I just follow the directions on the bottle.

Again, because of my nutrition and lifestyle habits, I rarely get sick, and when I do, it’s usually because I have been traveling and have gone off my normal nutrition habits, or haven’t had enough sleep for a few days in a row. If I do feel something coming on, I can usually fight it off by returning to good healthy eating and resting, along with taking these supplements for a few days until I feel better. Then I continue to take them for another few days.

And back to filtered water because it’s so important. I drink 5-7 quarts a day when sick. This makes me beat a path to the bathroom (about once per hour), but it really works. I cut myself off about 3 hours before bed time so I’m not waking up because sleep is key too. Lastly, organic tea counts as water, so if you like tea, the best kinds are ginger (especially to sooth the stomach), peppermint (to help break up congestion) and licorice (can thin mucus).

Hope this helps! Feel free to share with others who are sick to help them out too.
