Eggshell is calcium carbonate. It will have the effect of neutralizing dogs stomach acid quicker than bone/ground bone would. This is not ideal, because the stomach acid is needed to break up the food in the stomach before it is passed into the small intestine. It's no big deal to do this once of twice a week if your dog has no digestive issues, but I would avoid it if you suspect a dog is low on stomach acid.
