HEALTH: CALAMANSI - A SUPER-FRUIT ON ITS OWN RIGHT

in health •  7 years ago

It's my own opinion that this little, round, green sour fruit is a super-fruit on its own. It's called "calamansi" or "kalamunding" in my own dialect. As with all citrus family of fruits, calamansi is full of Vitamin C and its sour taste adds a tingling sensation to our salivary glands sending a signal to our craving appetite.

Refreshing Drink

Calamansi turns into a Pinoy lemonade version which is one of the most refreshing drinks found in the streets, school canteens, and most especially homes. Adding sugar to taste or salt to those who shun away sugar, iced calamansi lemonade is refreshing all the same.

Diet and Slimming Drink

Controlling cholesterol level, calamansi juice helps those who are trying to stay slim and lose fats. When controlled, low cholesterol level aids in reducing heart diseases and ailments.

Get five (5) fruits of calamansi, squeeze them removing the seeds and mix with 500ml of purified or mineral water. Drink this 30 minutes before sleeping and make sure no other food intake occurs.

Do this for two weeks and you will see significant results. This regimen is effective paired with good eating habits, enough physical exercise, and a healthy outlook in life.

Medicinal Properties

Don't throw those seeds just yet. If you have migraine from time to time, chewing on the seeds of calamansi will help relieve the pain. The seed may taste bitter but it has proven to be effective. I myself didn't believe it until I tried it. It really works!

Another healthy practice that you can do with calamansi is to drink it warm in the morning just before you drink or eat anything. This will revive your immune system, control acidity of your stomach, and regulates blood flow.

Personally, I found that my stool has become soft making it easy to discharge my waste products early morning, which is a good practice if you do this everyday.

Take 5 fruits and squeeze them into warm water around 300ml or 1 cup. Do not put sugar as this will turn acidic. Instead, put salt if you want to have some taste to cover the sour taste. Drink slowly. A gulp each time. This will allow your system to process the juice properly.

Wait for 30-45 minutes before eating anything.

TRY THIS: Take 10 fruits, squeeze, add salt to taste, then drink without water. This is more effective and if you do this for a week, you'll see a significant improvement in your bodily functions.

BE HEALTHY. BE SMART. BECAUSE HEALTH IS THE ONLY WEALTH WORTH FIGHTING FOR.

Nosotros le agregamos papelón, que viene de la caña de azúcar y contiene todas las vitaminas que el azúcar de mesa no tiene. Es una sabor espectacular, @cjclaro. Solo hay que sustituir el azúcar por el papelón y listo.

Paperboard? Any kind of paperboard? This is interesting suggestion, and you actually have done this?

Jajaja. No! The google translate doesn't worked very well. This product is very sweet, comes from sugar cane. You can see it here and here. Sorry for my mistake.

Is it possible to find this kind of fruit in an european country?

Calamansi is a tropical fruit and thrives mostly in Philippines and southeast asian countries. But if you have a greenhouse, you could grow this fruit. Prolonged and extreme cold weather is not a good climate for this fruit.
