DID YOU KNOW GETTING ANGRY KILLS YOU
Source
Today's topic is quite different from all my other posts, it's away from telecommunications and Nigeria. I'll be talking about The Hulk I'm sure comic fans will be happy to read that but hold on, I'm not gonna be talking about Hulk from the Marvel Cinematic Universe but referencing him as he plays a part in today's lecture.
For those of you that might not know The Hulk, He's a Green monster that resides within Dr. Bruce Banner and is activated whenever the good doctor is upset or enraged.
So the topic today, is going to be focused on anger(rage), I'll be talking about our hulks or our inner monster that is activated when we're angry. I'll be talking on some health implications of expressed and surpressed anger both the long and short term implications as well as giving us a few tips for anger management. So let's begin
What Is Anger
According to the "Oxford Online Dictionary" Anger is A strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility.
As human beings we know that we get angry, while some are more prone to anger than others.

Short Term Effects
Headaches
I'm sure we all aren't strangers to headaches, but some of us might not have realized that alot of times after an angry episode we come down with headache and I'm sure we all headaches aren't fun.Digestive Imbalance
This is another problem linked with anger. Have you ever been angry and then lost your appetite? I'm sure you have, and even when we force ourselves and eat we realize that the food doesn't digest properly. This is as a result of your body shutting down all functions that are not directly part of your fight-or-flight agenda.
Long Term Effects
Cardiac Unrest
Anger is a killer and a problem to your cardiac health, it has been researched and found to be true that people who get angry are twice at risk of coronary disease and also those who frequently get angry are more likely to have arterial calcium deposits which is a primary indicator for heart attacks.Stroke
Another study has found that anger prone people are three times more likely to suffer from a stroke due to a blood clot or bleeding within the brain two hours after an angry episode.Lower Life Expectancy
People who are anger prone tend to die quicker than their counterparts who are less angry, this I due to a lot of factors, one being angry people are basically stressed out and stress is not good for the body.
Helpful Tips
Know The Cause
While angers a very familiar emotion to alot of people, most people don't actually bother with the why? It is imperative we know the cause of our anger and try to solve it as quickly as possible to avoid a burst up. Sometimes even our anger is nothing but a masquerade hiding our actual feeling.Warning Signs
As our faces are different, so also are our warning signs when we're about to burst up in anger. Take note of these physical signs that tell you you're about to lose it, such as clenched fists, heavy breathing, tensed shoulders etc. So next time pay attention to your warning signs, so you can avoid an angry outburst.Learn Calming Techniques
Since we now know our warning signs and are conscious of them, the next thing is for us to quickly look for ways to calm ourselves either through any of the numerous calming exercises like Taking deep breaths, counting one to ten, taking a quiet walk etc. Such exercises help calm the nerves and helps you avoid being angry.Seek Help
If all else fails then the next thing to do is seek professional help, be it a therapist or an anger management class, remember seeking professional help doesn't make you weak it instead shows your strength. Act fast so that you won't end up doing something you'd regret as a result of an angry episode.
Conclusion
Anger is a common emotion but not many know of its devastating effects on the body, there are many more effects that I didn't mention like it affects your immune system, assimilation, insomnia, high blood pressure etc. Don't be a victim of anger, TAKE ACTION NOW
As always I remain @Dawizy
