This post is being made in respect of Steemit In Nigeria (SIN2) Conference which has been slated to hold between 30th October to 4th November, 2018. And so all SBD to be generated will be used to make SIN2 conference a success.
Autism is a disorder marked with troubles or difficulties in interacting socially with people or communicating with them. As such, someone with autism develop restricted and repetitive behaviour.
Autism could be genetic or caused by environmental factors. It begins at early childhood stage and can last as long as a person lives. The person becomes impaired of social interaction, communication and even the World around him.
DID YOU KNOW?
Boys are diagnosed of autism more than girls?
Autism is not a disease, not an illness and as such, it cannot be cured.
It is a spectrum condition
People with autism have learning disabilities and some even have mental problems
Those with autism may not necessarily look disabled. However you can know them due to the persistent difficulty they face relating socially with people ( by way of communication or interaction) and as such, their every day functioning becomes limited, if not impaired.
WHAT THE AUTISTIC PEOPLE FACE
~ They find it hard to interpret verbal and non verbal communication
They hardly comprehend jokes and sarcasm
~They struggle with abstract concepts
~ They may prefer sign languages, if trained to use it ( they can communicate without speech)
~ During a discussion, understanding what the other person expect them to do is really not easy for them. They even find it hard repeating words (in case a teacher needs him/her to repeat the words)
~ Socially, autistic people appear insensitive
~ They seek no comfort from others except themselves (They hardly form friendship)
~ They hardly change and accept a new approach to things once they have been taught or trained to do it otherwise
THE CAUSE?
Research is still on going about it, however, it couldnt have resulted from only one single cause
STOP THE DISCRIMINATION, AN AUTISTIC HAS A FUTURE
In his book: Dont mourn for us Jim Sinclair reported that " Some parents upon learning that their child is autistic, said it was the most traumatic thing that ever happened to them. Their grief is not only that the Child is autistic but that the have lost the normal child they hoped and expected to have." source. Such statement can cause more anxiety, stress and strain than the Practical complexities of life which the autistic already face.
Granted, the parents concerned try to communicate and relate with their autistic children as with every normal child. When no response from the child, should they give up?
If you must speak to someone who does not understand your language, do you give up trying? Try in special ways to communicate with your autistic child, he may never talk, never do well (in your own opinion) but at the long run, you may succeed in helping him learn how to talk, attend school and have a career. Even after all these, he may still never relate with you like other children of yours who are normal will.
Know it also that with an autistic child, if you settle for what you think is normal and try relating with the child , hoping to fill your expectation, you may meet with disappointments, anger and even curse the day you gave birth to the child. But with openness, fellow feeling, patience and readiness to spend your entire life trying to relate with him, you will find a world you never deemed imaginable with an autistic child.
THE CURE?
Different strokes for different folks. What works for one may not work for the other. However , treatment can help but the condition cannot be cured.
You can seek help, advice and support here for families with autistic individuals.
The next time you see a child with the above characteristics, signaling autism in the child, do you expect too much from him? Do you compare his skills and learning abilities with other childrens'?
If you are a teacher, you need to tailor your teaching and learning skills to accommodate the child. He is a child with a future.

Autistic traits have reduced over the years unlike those days, i do not know why but reading this has shed more light and is passing a message of hope and love to the affected ones. Once again, i'd love to know the difference or relationship between autism & individuals that stammer, both are not dds but they look slightly the same in some aspects. All the support for SIN2
