I couldnt help but being a bit disappointed about todays results. I cant break my personal bests all the time but being so far off again is a bit underwhelming.

But I dont want to complain. If I look at my results when I started I more than doubled my average times, so I am excited what I will be able to do within a couple of month or in a year.

I should also look for a certain time I am doing my exercises and shouldnt be concerned if I cant do as many push-ups after training than before.

Round 2 : 1 min 20.98 sec
Round 3 : 1 min 30.26 sec
Round 4 : 1min 31.42 sec

For new readers I want to explain what I am actually doing here: The Wim Hof Method consists of 3 pillars

  • breathing : you breathe in very deeply and exhale. But you dont exhale all the air so you kind of "charge" yourself. You do 30-40 breathe cycles and then exhale all the air out in your lunge and withhold your breath as long as possible.

  • cold exposure: you start taking showers or jump into an ice bath and the lenght is increasing as you progress through the course

  • some physical excercise : mostly some Yoga but also push-ups. What is special about the push-ups is, that you do one breahting round before them and also exhale, so you do the push ups with an empty lung.

Ich muss sagen ich bin etwas entäuscht von meinen Ergebnissen heute. Mir ist bewusst, dass ich nicht jeden Tag meine Bestzeiten brechen kann, doch wieder soweit davon entfernt zu sein, war doch etwas niederschmetternd.

Dann dachte ich jedoch zurück an meine Zeiten als ich anfing hier darüber zu schreiben und wie sehr ich mich verbessert habe. Ich habe meine Durchschnittszeit mehr als verdoppelt und will mich nicht von kleinen Tiefs entmutigen lassen sondern daran denken was ich in ein paar Monaten oder einem Jahr erreichen kann solange ich bei der Stange bleibe.

Auch sollte ich mir etwas festere Zeiten suchen und mich nicht wundern wenn ich nach dem Traning nicht so viele Liegestützen schaffe.

Für neue Leser möchte ich kurz zusammenfassen um was es hier überhaupt geht: Die Wim Hof Methode setzt sich aus 3 Pfeilern zusammen.

  • Atmung : Man atmet tief ein aber nicht ganz wieder aus. So "lädt man sich auf". Dies macht man 30-40 Atemrunden. Bei der letzten atmet man alles aus und hält die Luft solange wie möglich an, also auf leere Lunge.

  • Kälte : Man fängt an mit kurzen kalten Duschen ( 30 Sekunden). Die Zeit verlängert sich je weiter man im Kurs schreitet.

  • Sport : Vor allem sind es ein paar Yoga-Übungen und Liegestütze. Bei den Liegestützen ist anzumerken, das man davor auch eine Runde der Atemübungen macht und die Liegstütze auf leere Lunge durchführt.

I want to try it, but in my country there is no winter :)

You can just get into an ice bath or start with a bucket filled with ice and put your hands and legs into it or just cold showers.

Also that is not me, that is Wim Hof himself.

I am just taking cold showers and ice baths for now but hopefully, there will be one picture of me in a frozen lake in the future.

I actually dont know where it was taken, this is Wim hof himself. I stick to some ice bath and cold showers for now before I try this. But I hope in the future there will be a picture of me like this.

for the longest time, I really think it is you, because saw his pictures on some of your posts.. pardon me :P , I have been trying to shower with cold water too, not real cold water, just without the heater which I will normally do.

Maybe you should put that it's not you, somewhere below the picture hahaha.
