SeaBuckThorn - Uses and Benefits

We have all heard of chia seeds, spirulina, wheatgrass and blueberries as being superfoods, but there seems to be a new member to the team.

Sea buckthorn berry. This is an old an ancient berry that has been long forgotten, but has recently surfaced as a superfood with it's ability to pretty much counter everything.

Benefits:

  • Fights against inflammation
  • Great against radiation
  • Great for skin, especially severe burns
  • Good for weight loss an great for preventing weight gain
  • Great for skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and dermatitis

One of sea buckthorn's great strengths is it's ability to ward off cancer. Due to its 15 phenolic compounds, flavonoids (specifically quercetin and rutin), which are beneficial for your heart and blood vessels.

It is also high in vitamin C and E, which are great for the immune system. This superfood also contains high amounts of A, B1, B2 and K along with potassium, magnesium, zinc and fat burning copper.

The heart health benefits come from its high content of essential fatty acids like oleic acid (also found in olive oil), linoleic acid (also available in grapeseed oil) and linolenic acid.

This berry was commonly used for remedy against heart attack and stroke.

Other cardiologic benefits of this tiny berry include:

  • good for regulating high blood pressure
  • decreasing arterial blood pressure
  • prevention of cell mutations
  • prevent blood clots

Well as you can see there are many benefits to see buckthorn berry.
