I add a pinch (about the amount of an aspirin) to my morning coffee to change it from acidic to alkaline. There is a video on the internet demonstrating this with pH strips. It doesn't change the taste of black coffee as far as I can tell unless you go about double that amount. The acid-to-alkaline video actually used less than an "aspirin-sized" amount. If you drink coffee first thing in the morning on an empty stomach you may want to consider this.
