A break in the caffiene ban

in health •  8 years ago  (edited)

Yesterday

I broke down when I spotted an icy cold unfinished bit of a can of energy drink. It was the sugar free version of the one pictured, blue instead of red. Only about a quarter of about 60mg, maybe 15mg of caffeine in it.

You may have seen my post yesterday. Almost all day I was all energetic and talkative. I slept ok but I can see now why I was having a problem. I am one of those referred to on the warnings on the side as "sensitive to caffeine".

So I am continuing to shun it. But it is nice to know if I was in trouble and needed to be energetic I could have less than half a coffee and go all day! lol 😁 But definitely not for every day.

Caffeine gets me, too. I'm definitely sensitive. I had gotten so bad with them a few months ago I was basically not sleeping. Sleep is already tough for me, struggled with insomnia my entire adult life, so energy drinks definitely don't help my cause after the sun goes down.

But you're right--it is nice to know that as a sensitive, you just sprinkle some caffeine on us and we are good to go for the long haul. :)

It's funny.... a little coffee and I get sleepy. A cup or two more and I'm ready to go.

Ditching the caffeine myself since new years and I find it to be ok. Sugar is much harder... makes me feel like a full blown heroine addict at times. But it's an interesting experiment for now.

All of the substances are tools, and knowing how they work with you is always a good thing! :-)

Please excuse me asking here... Are you still using that null email account?
