September 11 progress

in health •  7 years ago

After starting off at 156 the beginning of this month, I weighed myself this last weekend and lost 4 lbs! After two weekends of family get togethers, fairs, and a lot of temptations, I am definitely happy with that number. To say that I didn't indulge, said no to funnel cakes and yummy fair food would be a lie. Not getting anything at a fair is as mean as taking a kid to a toy store or candy shop and saying you can't have anything. Now that's just mean. But through out the week I did stick to a strict diet, stayed away from breads and sweets, and got my workouts in. (not as good as I could have but still something to be proud of) Which is why having that delicious, yummy, greasy delightfulness did not ruin my progress. But it was interesting how I felt at the end of the day, after eating all kinds a fair food. It made me want to eat good.

Now it is Monday, the start of a whole new week, and I am looking forward to eating healthy again and hoping by the end of this week to see a number on the scale that I haven't seen since before I got pregnant with my second baby. I got a first workout in this morning (hoping to do a second during nap time) and I'm really feeling positive.

One of my biggest downfalls in the past with weightloss, I would weigh myself at the end of a successful week, see that I lost weight, and would "reward" myself with a cheat meal. That would turn into a cheat day, then a cheat weekend. And by the time that would all be over I'd be right back to where I was at the very start. I would give into my cravings all week long. Then I would think, why is my "reward" putting bad food back into my body after working so hard to get rid of the bad affects that it has caused. I've had to find new motivations and new rewards to help keep me on track.
