No need to close yourself indoors to make it through allergy season, here are a few tips:
- Leave your shoes near the door
- Wash your laundry often - don’t throw it on the floor
- Take probiotics — wait, what? That’s right. Read more.
It took researchers from University of Florida months to figure out that people who took a placebo kept on sneezing and wheezing with itchy, teary eyes, while those that took probiotics improved in those with mild symptoms.
The study evolved from the hygiene hypothesis, ...stating that developed countries, which tend to be more sterile, have higher incidence rates of allergies and asthma compared to developing countries.
If you plan to try and see if it works for you, I recommend Pure Encapsulations Probiotic 50B. Otherwise, be sure to choose a probiotic that contains the two strains that worked in the study: Lactobacilli and Bifidobacteria.
Based on information from the book, Fix Your Gut, by John Brisson, I don’t recommend any probiotic that contains Bacillus subtilis like Primal Defense. That’s one bugger you might never get rid of!
