Obese person inside

I’m 14 weeks pregnant now and I look very pregnant! Whenever I am pregnant I always look further along now than I am. Which is useful for getting a seat on the tube but gets very uncomfortable.

I weighed myself yesterday and I’ve put on 6lbs! I was 130lbs when I conceived! If you’ve read any of my #fitfam posts on my blog you’ll know that there’s an obese person inside of me who is always battling to get out. I have to put a lot of effort into slapping her down and staying slim and healthy.
With my first two pregnancies I piled on three and half stone. I lost it all after each baby, but it took ages and was a major mission! There was no need for me to put on that much weight.

Eating for two

The whole ‘eating for two’ theory is nonsense really as your baby gets all it needs from the placenta. You just need to eat nutritious food so that it benefits the baby and your own body. In the third trimester a pregnant woman needs around 200-300 extra calories a day. That’s the equivalent to beans on toast or a banana and bowl of cereal.

I’m thankful that this time around instead of doughnuts I am craving for avocado and tomato salads and Granny Smith apples – basically tangy fresh tasting stuff. I went off cakes and desserts quite early into my pregnancy, believe me this is shocking for those that know me! But if I feel like a little something sweet I won’t deny myself because this is the last time time I’m going to go through pregnancy so I can let go a little bit.

How’s baby?

Baby is now around 7.5 cm long and about the size of a hens egg. She can kick her legs, yawn, swallow and hiccup. Baby’s skeleton and organs continue to grow and her lungs are starting to take their first ‘breaths’. She’ll still be getting oxygen in their blood from the umbilical cord as she’s surrounded by amniotic fluid, so instead it’ll be like she’s breathing underwater. It’s amazing that even though baby is so small she can do so many things!

Are people actually eating beans on toast? I can't imagine that's too delectable...

Lol! Baked beans on toast is quite yummy....especially with some grated cheese sprinkled on top!

That's an AWESOME pregnancy photo! You should add it to this chain... https://steemit.com/pregnancy/@chuckypita/beauty-and-the-bump-pregnant-moms-picture-chain
