Old enemy
An old enemy had gradually been making it’s way back into my life. Acne!
Just as my sickness was dying down a little, I noticed some fresh red spots on my back. This is quite familiar to me because I had severe acne on my back from the age of 13 to 30. Thankfully I never had it on my face, but it did make its way to my chest. So backless dresses and low cut tops were out of the question, and I was put off swimming for about 10 years, until I decided I didn’t care anymore.
I’d given up on any kind of medication or herbal remedies as nothing seemed to work. When I got pregnant with my first child it worsened and my chest became a red pimply mess. Then miraculously it completely cleared up after I gave birth. It didn’t return when I became pregnant with my second baby and even the scars faded away. After I’d lost all my baby weight (which took a year) I remember proudly wearing a saree with a halter neck blouse.
Unpredictable
Over the last four years I’ve had a few spots on my back now and then but nowhere near as bad as it was. Now there is a cluster of angry red spots on my back, and a couple on my face. I guess hormones are to blame and I’m hoping they will calm down at some point. I’m not too upset about it because I’d have a few spots on my back than have my head down the toilet all day. And who knows it might all clear up after I give birth? I’m not counting on it though. Hormones are unpredictable.
How’s baby?
Baby is now around the size of half a banana, around 8 cm, and is growing stronger everyday. Baby is now starting to look like a real person with hair and eyebrows beginning to grow and a unique set of fingerprints!
