More and more these days people are making choices the go Green. For many it’s all about leaving a smaller carbon footprint, and a healthier planet for their children and their children’s children. While we often think about making the environment and planet healthier, but we don’t often think about is how much healthier a green lifestyle can be for each one of us individually in the short-term.
Take for instance, a decision to reduce the amount of screen time you spend with TVs, computer games and laptops. Sure, this may cut down on your electricity bill and the electronic disposal in our junkyards, but it also frees up more of your time. That is more of your time to do something more active. Such as taking a walk, playing game or even swimming at the beach. When you make this kind of decision, your making both you and the environment healthier. One of the concerns most people have with going green, is the expense of it. At least the short-term expense. Take for example, having solar panels to your home to cut down on your electricity bills, and get you off the power grid a little bit more.
While this all seems to make a lot of sense in the long term, there’s no denying that in the short term it takes quite a while to get a decent return on your investment. But, I suppose the question you have to ask is what’s it worth to the environment around you.
Is no doubt, it’s a big leap to going greener. But the good news, is you don’t have to do it all at once. Small steps is often enough to get you moving down the path to a happier, healthier and cleaner environment. And isn’t that something, you want for everyone in our family and their families to experience.
