I just got a new water filter in the mail. The main benefit of the ProMax is that it removes over 200 contaminants, including fluoride. And it has a removal rate of 99.9% and higher for virtually all of the listed contaminants.
This one can be attached to most kitchen or bathroom faucets that have a removable (unscrewable) aerator. There's also an adapter to fit over other types of faucet heads, but you need to order that as a separate item. It has 2 valves, so you can use normal sink water or divert water to be filtered.
The case is made out of BPA/BPS-free plastic. However, replacement filters are quite expensive (around $80 based on what I see - and the entire set cost about $190). So the filters being almost 50% the cost of the whole unit is a big downfall.

I didn't buy this for preparedness reasons. My main goal was to have contaminant-free water, especially fluoride, for my everyday drinking. The area I live in has pretty good tap water, but for some weird reasons the government still adds fluoride, citing the need to promote dental health. I call that weird because we can get the benefits of good dental health from fluoridated toothpaste or mouthwash, and that means not ingesting or drinking it. Having that element or related compounds added to our drinking water doesn't make sense to me. I've yet to hear a convincing argument from anybody that supports mass fluoridation, except the conspiracy theory that states it is designed reduce IQ and fertility in the masses, which would benefit corrupt insiders. I don't necessarily believe that, but I do believe that it is a poison to the human body, and the water you drink is better without it.
