Although obesity, in general, is considered an epidemic, due to the growing increase in the number of overweight people, several scientists believe that it should be treated as a contagious disease, according to a study by the University of California.

A group of scientists analyzed 2000 young people and 3000 parents who lived in military bases in the United States, according to the US science portal Science Alert.

The research focused on families whose members had a close relationship with each other and shared similar habits and customs. What they observed was that a quarter of the young people and three quarters of the adults were overweight or obese.

Scientists believe that the danger of obesity in the communities is much more than in other places, since the people there have many common habits and are closely related to other people with the same problem.

Another analysis from Harvard University (USA) explained last year that when a person gains weight, there is also the possibility that their partner, close family members and friends do.

According to the study, carried out to more than 12,000 people, the options to gain weight rise more than 50 percent if you have friends with obesity problems.

I believe obesity is a bigger problem in cities. In the country people are outdoors more often - walking, doing chores etc. Just getting up and around helps reduce weight. I hate housework, but I know it helps cut back the calories. Thank goodness!

Interesting reflexion.
