I received the best gift you can have on "Christmas Eve". I know there is a long way to go for that day. where everyone shares in family and santa visits our homes. But the truth is my Christmas was ahead of November 19... This is the story of the best day of my life. Today I'll talk about the activity called "Christmas Crusade of foundations" for oncological patients at the Dr. Miguel Pérez Carreño hospital.

I had not wanted to tell the reason for my presence here, but this is the story. My cousin has cancer and I'm helping my family, as any of you would in such a complex situation...

Many times there're those who don't resist the diagnosis. The "non-Hopkins lymphoma" is the 5th most common type of cancer in Venezuela. But it is also the one with the highest survival rate. My cousin was diagnosed 7 months ago and the battle has not been easy, we take slow but sure steps.

Oncological patients most of the time fall into depression, family members also suffer a lot. But the strength to continue living is stronger

The activity had only one purpose: to motivate the souls of all those who want to have their normal life again. That was what we experienced that day, a lot of motivation and encouragement to cheer up the fighting spirits. That day I felt their desires to live.

The day began with the staging of a group of high school students. displaying the theatrical work "Christmas Tale" by Charles Dickens.

Then a dance group, made up of the girls from the same school, offered a dance full of rhythm.

First break of activities

When concluding the first acts I undertook the tour of the facilities of the "hacienda la vega". Place where the party was held. Actually, I was very surprised at how beautiful and spacious the place was. For those who don't know Caracas is a city that has only one natural lung, the hill "El Avila" but this place was that ideal paradise. All full of green and fresh air, in the middle of the concrete jungle.

Happiness everywhere

The children were the ones who enjoyed the most. However the adults could also have a good time. Dr. Yaso's team was the best. They were everywhere. Making everyone laugh, bringing the best medicine to everyone: SMILES.

In every party for children magic can't be absent. That guy you see in the photo wasn't part of any foundation, he was aware of the activity and was doing his bit. As he said: Magic is inside everyone, it's a matter of believing and anything will be possible ... BRAVO!

The doctors announced by microphone something that full of happiness to all present: "Today you are not patient, today you can eat what you want" ... you can imagine the happiness of all.

For the afternoon came the turn of the most popular group of children's parties in Venezuela...

"The payasitas Nifu Nifa"(female clowns). I remember them when I was a child. his music albums were a total success. To my surprise they are still in the realm of entertainment and they really keep all their magic. It was a fabulous show, obviously I joined the celebration at that time.

Guess who came? ...

The final surprise was the one that most enjoyed the children, Santa Claus came with gifts for everyone ...

Without a doubt the best gift they could receive

Cancer is a disease that changes people's lives forever. But inside the darkness there is always a ray of light.Nice people are known. The person becomes more human ... even I have become more human ...

Is not easy to face this reality. But with strength and conviction, we move on. Trying to enjoy each day to the fullest. Adversities always bring out the best and the worst in people. In this case, we only get the best.
