CDC signs off on the updated bivalent coronavirus vaccines for children 6 months to 5 years old.

The rollout was already underway in anticipation this week, so you should be able to make appointments for this in the coming days.

And remember what I noted yesterday. For children in this age group that received Moderna it will serve as their third dose. For those that received Pfizer, they are ineligible for this dose unless they haven't received the third dose of the primary series yet.

For the group that has already received three doses of the Pfizer vaccine in this age group they might be eligible as soon as next month. Pfizer is waiting on data regarding a fourth dose.

And of course none of this applies for older children and adults. All individuals 5 and older that have received at least the primary series of any of the vaccines are eligible for the updated bivalent booster.
