Oats Pancake/Oats chilla is very easy, quick, delicious and healthy recipe. Great for any time of the day. The base of this recipe is oats and as we all know oats are among the healthiest grains on earth. They’re a gluten-free whole grain and a great source of important vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants.
This recipe is perfect for people following vegan diet. You can make pancakes by just using oats, but I have also added little portion of semolina and chickpea flour for flavour.Plus shredded vegetables adds good crunch and taste to the pancakes.
SAVOURY OATS PANCAKE RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
⅓ Cup Oats
2 Tablespoons Semolina or rawa
2 Tablespoons Chickpea flour or besan
¼ TeaspoonTurmeric powder
¼ Teaspoon Red chilli powder
¼ Teaspoon Coriander cumin seed powder
1 Green chilli chopped
¼ Cup Non-fat plain yogurt or curd
1 Garlic clove, grated
¼ Cup Grated carrot
¼ Cup Chopped capsicum
¼ Cup Chopped onion
½ Teaspoon Salt
DIRECTIONS
STEP 1 Blend the oats like oats flour and add it to a mixing bowl.
STEP 2 Add rest of the ingredients. Pour water as needed and make a batter that is not very thin or thick.
STEP 3 Lightly coat a large nonstick skillet or griddle with coconut oil and place over medium heat. Drop batter by ¼ cup onto skillet and spread out a bit with a spoon. Cook until bubbles appear on top, about 2 minutes. Flip cakes and cook until golden brown on underside, 2 minutes.
STEP 4 Wipe skillet clean and repeat with more coconut oil and remaining batter. You may need to reduce the heat after the second batch to prevent burning.
