Do you eat salads?
I fell in love with salads only after I learned how to make good ones. These days that is all I basically eat apart from my super shakes.
I made thousands of different salads and created recipes for conscious eating points all around the world. I can say I met a lot of salads and some of them were sad,sad, sad.
You can create the best salad on the planet knowing a few little tips that I want to share with you here.
Here is how we can change that boring concept of a salad - a few tired leaves with zero excitement into a happy, colorful, delicious explosion of JOY.
#1. Use different kinds of FRESH salads leaves. Roman and Rocket for instance.
#2. COLORFUL RAW VEGGIES, cut or shredded. Carrots/Beets/Celery/Tomatoes/Red Cabbage/ Sweet Peppers/Cucumbers, etc
#3. Good DRESSING is everything.
It takes care of the fat content of a meal and without it salad is just a bunch of veggies that not fun even to me.
Use high quality oil - raw Coconut/extra virgin Olive/Avocado oils are the best. Lemon juice OR ACV or any other healthy vinegar. Adding fresh/dry herbs, garlic, mustard, capers, nutri yeast, Celtic/Himalayan will create a desired flavor.
#4. Mix raw and cooked (skip if you are raw foodie).
Having something cooked in a salad makes it more of a meal, which is an important factor for those of us who eat once a day.
Roasted red peppers/zucchinis, baked sweet potatoes/pumpkin/beans, lightly steamed broccoli, cooked chick peas make a whole difference.
#5. Add nuts, sprouts and seeds to your salads.
Pumpkin/Sunflower/Sesame/Hemp seeds, almonds, walnuts, pine nuts will not only add great nutritional value, but also will turn your salad into a pure love bomb.
#6. Never miss a chance to eat an AVOCADO!
#7. Add anything else your beautiful heart desires - vegan cheese, sauerkraut, fruits (try figs, starfruit and apples), edible flowers and even aquafaba.
