have you ever had an urge to go to the loo in the middle of a serious interview? Let me tell you my experience.
I woke up late today because I had a late night, I did my chores and took a look at the clock- oops! 07 55 am again!! This time around, I knew I was going to pay for my sins of procrastination because I was going for an interview.
I took a bath and jumped into my clothes and off I ran through the door heading for my interview
On the way, I remembered that I had not had breakfast, the interview may last quite a while, so I stopped at a food restaurant to get a light breakfast. Oh, how I hated myself because it was not my culture to eat outside.
The only available food was rice and beans. I had a couple of spoons before my phone rang that my number was close to the interview. I abandon the food and headed straight to the waiting room full of other candidates.
I tried to calm my nerves and try to remember the little I read the night before. About 10 mins after arrival, my name was called. I acknowledged and I was ushered into a room with 3 middle aged individuals as the panelist.
I greeted them and that was how my interview started. It went quite well until I started experiencing abdominal upset, at first I thought I could cope with it. The more I tried, the more I perspired.
It wasn’t until my abdomen started making some funny sounds. Mooh….moooh…bruuup! that the female on the panel asked her co-panelist if there was a cow nearby. Wow, I heard the sound too and in fact, the intensity grew stronger. The next series of events happened so fast. Without any excuse, I ran away from the interview hall and made my way to the nearest convenience. This had to be my village people at work.
Don’t ask me how the interview went, I learned my lessons the hard way. Up till this date, I prepare my own food for fear of the unknown.
#Note : The Above scenario is medically known as gastroenteritis a situation in which a patients has symptoms of vomitting, diarrhea and abdominal discomfort. This can be prevented by patient education about proper hygiene both on the patient and the food vendor
