How to Do It Yourself: Reinstalling and Optimizing Windows 10 and Utilizing an Old TV as a Second Monitor
In today's post, I want to share my experience as a "Total Amateur" who decided to embark on a two-day adventure optimizing the Windows 10 system and simultaneously using an old TV as a second monitor for my laptop.
Day One: Reinstallation and Optimization of Windows 10
- System Reinstallation:
I began with a fresh installation of the Windows 10 system. To do this, I used a tool to create a bootable USB drive with the system image. - Updates and Drivers:
After installing the system, I carried out all available updates and installed the latest drivers for the graphics card, sound, and other components. - Optimization and Cleanup:
I installed system optimization tools such as CCleaner to remove unnecessary files and improve performance. - Setting Configuration:
I customized system settings by disabling unnecessary visual effects and configuring power options.
Day Two: Old TV as a Second Monitor - Connecting the TV:
I used an HDMI cable to connect my old TV to the laptop and use it as a second monitor. - Desktop Extension:
In the Windows system settings, I configured a desktop extension to the second monitor, providing me with more workspace. - Adjusting Image Settings:
I fine-tuned image settings on the TV to achieve the best quality and comfort during work. - Practical Usage:
I utilized the second monitor for browsing materials while focusing on video editing on the laptop.
Conclusion:
This two-day challenge not only enhanced the performance of my laptop but also facilitated more efficient work by leveraging a second monitor. For the "Total Amateur," such an adventure proved to be a fascinating step into the world of computer optimization and expanding its functionality.
