the journal of a tour to the hebrides

It is a collective of Johnson and Boswell's memories of their trip from Edinburg to northeastern coasts of Scotland, first published in 1785;1 year after Johnson's death.

While Dr.Johnson (Samuel Johnson) is a keen observant of the people and culture around him-concluding from his choice of words, finding the people and environment a bit primitive and disgusting; Boswell tends to write more about Dr. Johnson and his reactions as he looks upon him. I would recommend reading this in order to compare different perspectives and writing styles on the same situations.
