Stuxnet is the worm software that the US and Israel use to deal with Iran's nuclear activities. In June 2010, the virus, which was found to be an asset, affected Iran's nuclear facilities in Buşehir and Natanz.
Stuxnet has an important role in cyber security, as it shows that industrial control systems and off-world systems may also be targets. The virus is said to be in the process of contamination through electrical lines. But the main way of infection is an engineer working at a Natanz facility infected with a USB memory by an agent in a cafeteria on his personal laptop.
In Iran, there was no nuclear disaster because the target reactors were not active. If the reactors were active, it could have been a catastrophe like Chernobyl.
Stuxnet, which affects Microsoft operating systems, is targeting Iran's nuclear power facilities, and this feature reinforces the suspicion that it is being developed for industrial espionage.
