XX əsr rus ədəbiyyatının görkəmli simalarından olan Konstantin Paustovski (1892-1968) öz şöhrəti ilə sovet dövrünün qapalı sərhədlərini aşmağa müvəffəq olmuş azsaylı ədiblərdəndir. Əsərlərini, əsasən, xalq həyatına, insani dəyərlərə, I və II dünya müharibələrinin qəhramanlarına, eləcə də tanınmış şəxsiyyətlər haqqında düşüncələrə həsr etmişdir.
K.Paustovski yaradıcılığa hələ orta məktəbdə oxuyarkən başlamış, həmin illərdə "Suyun içində" və "Üç nəfər" adlı hekayələrini dərc etdirmişdir. Yazıçılıq şöhrətini ona 1936-cı ildə yazdığı "Qara boğaz" povesti gətirmişdir. Onun "Parlaq səma", "Romantiklər" adlı romanları, "Qızılgül", "Meşələr haqqında povest", "Qara dəniz" kimi povestləri, eləcə də "Toxucu Nastya", "Qar", "Yağmurlu sübh çağı", "Madam Bovenin duası", "Verdinin musiqisi" və s. hekayələri də oxucuların rəğbətini qazanmışdır.
