Knids are fictional aliens appearing in Roald Dahl's "Charlie and The Great Glass Elevator," the sequel to "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory."

According to the description provided by the book, "in the natural form, Vermicious Knids are huge, dark, egg-shaped beings" (see image above). However, they are shape shifting beings. In the story we can see them spelling the word "scram" (see image below)

Their homeland is the fictional planet Vermes. They are carnivorous and feed themselves on any species they can find, except for other Knids. According to Willie Wonka, they caused the extinction of many species of the Solar System, however, despite they can survive the vacuum of space, they can't survive the earth's atmosphere, therefore, they can't attack human beings or any other species of the earth.
