Come, O wise one, and listen carefully
For her words are wiser than yours
And in them lie secrets long lost
And knowledge beyond man's imagination
Come, O wise one, and be not afraid
For that lady of the earth and corn
Is not to be feared, but adored
And in her hands you live
Come, O wise one, who seeks the truth
And you will find it as others have too
As your mind wanders in divine epiphany
And your hands dig in the Earth
Come, O wise one, come and see it
Though never must you speak of it to another
That the mystery was shown you
That life goes on
And now, O wise one, with tears in your eyes
Do you wonder at your suffering
Do you wonder at your pain
That they are but the earth that surround a seed
Now, O wise one, know the truth
That from that seed new life will sprout
And into a mighty oak grow
Sacred to Zeus most high
You are wiser now for having seen it
You are kinder now for having known it
You are alive now its very existence
That gift of Demeter, everliving
Go now, O wise one, go now and live
Knowing that truth is in your reach
And life is worth living
For death has no hold over you
