HELLO NIGERIANS, STEEMIANS ! HOW DO WE DISPOSE OUR 'PURE WATER' SATCHETS?

The 'pure water' satchets we drink water from,  how do we dispose of them? Do we litter the place with the plastic satchets and  cans? 

or do we collect the trash? 

The time it takes plastic bags to decompose completely is estimated to be between 10 to 20 years depending on the exposure level.  

SOME DISADVANTAGES OF LITTERING 'PURE WATER' SATCHETS  

1.    Plastic bags stop crops’ roots from moving around to obtain nutrients from the soil.  

2.    Plastic litters cause drain blockage which results in water stagnation. Even when they do not end up in drainages, plastic bags store water by themselves. This becomes a breeding nest for certain disease vectors especially mosquitoes. Remember, the anopheles mosquitoes are the vectors that carry the malaria plasmodium. Next time you have malaria, think of how you contributed to allowing mosquitoes breed ! 

3.    Aquatic animals such as seabirds and whales dying from ingestion of plastic, since most of our litters are transported by water and end up in rivers, lakes and seas. 

Please, let us protect our environment. Separate  pure water satchets, plastic bottles etc. Put all plastic bottles, 'pure water' satchets,  together in one bag before proper disposal. Collect all cans (coke, fanta, sprite, guiness, heineken, star, sardine, geisha, tin tomatoes, peak milk, three crowns milk, etc) and put them in a separate bag before disposing of them. They will be recycled and used in making clothes, park benches, new plastic bottles, Happy earthday2017!
