Helping our neighbor: Let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers

Jesus taught that when our neighbor matters it is because we are on the correct path of life, the righteous life ("Do to others what you would have them do to you" Matthew 7:12) is the beginning of the life in the grace of God and the life in communion, and this is what the apostle Paul explained to us in the epistle to the Galatians. Helping our neighbor also helps us. How can we love God if we don't love our neighbor first? This is the question we have to ask ourselves if we want to enter the Kingdom of God as friends and brothers of our Lord Jesus: "For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen" 1 John 4:20.
Beatitude is an exigency that puts us to the test every day in the small daily acts of our lives, the Kingdom of Heaven does not begin with the big decisions, but with the smallest ones, that added together can produce great effects over time. Like the seed of the mustard tree that is the smallest of the seeds and that in the end becomes the largest vegetable.

Paul explicated to us that righteousness is ordained to rewards, to blessing by the law of reaping and sowing: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers" Galatians 6:9-10.
Without the gift of righteousness, Paul taught to us, only sin remains, a society cannot grow built on walls but on the care of common goods. The good unites people and gives meaning to human actions, which is the search for the most perfect, the wisdom of God: "How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver!" Proverbs 16:16.
