If you don't know what a hardfork is, read about it here by @steemitblog

Major points to note:

  1. Your votes will be worth four times more now.

  2. On the flip-side you will drain four times as much voting power than before.

Things to do:

- Ensure you do not run your voting power down to zero.

Where can you check your voting power:
https://steemd.com (or)
https://steemdb.com
as mentioned in my post Tracking Your Followers & Viewing Other Important Stats !

People with more number of vests (related to the steem power you hold) have a voting slider which can be set to a particular percentage so that they can vote more number of times.

Eg: Setting the percentage to 25 would allow them 40 votes a day.

As a newbie, you essentially have just 10 votes before you run down your entire voting power in the new system.

- Don't rush to vote on a post that is already trending.

Instead focus on fellow minnows and interesting posts that you find around you.

This is not to say that the trending posts don't deserve the vote, but you won't earn any curation awards from it.

Instead, if you vote on a new post that goes to trending, you will earn more from discovering a new post.

And since the new hardfork is name "equality", we should come together to ensure we see varied content on the trending tab.

Thanks. Okay :)

We are a minnow account and we've been upvoting quite a few articles and comments on our posts (possibly more than 10 times in total). Yesterday we noticed that our account value went up by $0.01. But today it's down by the same amount. Is this because we've been passionately upvoting?
Looking forward to your reply :)
