Cho53n 1, more like the Chosen Two, "Fredii B" and "Al Merlot", began as a group in 2018. Fredii, who has been performing since the age of 14, began song writing at the age of 20. Merlot, rapping since 12 years old, began producing music at the age of 15. These two artists combined their talents and artistry in what would create their unique style and advantage in the music industry. "... we don’t like to put ourselves in a box. Not singers but we like to sing and we both rap. We like to let our soul speak." Artists like, Bob Marley, JCole, Pharrell, and Michael Jackson to name a few, inspired their Hip Hop/ Neo Soul sound. With Cho53n1, no song may sound the same. They aren’t afraid to try something new and make it their own. "Whatever happens, happens. We might create verses then structure a beat around them or the complete opposite. We just try to do something we haven’t done before."
