One of my favorite rappers passed on this date. This man Notorious B.I.G hailed from Brooklyn, NY during what possible may have been its roughest period, the crack era. His first album is one of those playlists you can play front to back with no skips and actually appreciate every second of audio. Ironically, one I see as the antithesis of Biggie Smalls, Lil Yachty, released his new tape today. I used to be a hater of non lyricists, though nowadays I truly could care less and focus on those I appreciate and feel put real effort in their craft. I write this short article to pay my respects to this iconic legend in world history. Whether it was real life deadly situations, or scenarios he painted that seemed real, Biggie's storytelling wrapped up in elite lyricism remains next to none. The swag and cadence he used carried by his powerful confident voice is lacking in today's hiphop in my opinion. Plenty of acts are still excellent, but on a day like this, I hope someone next up does research on this legend and takes a few notes.
