One of the most important figures of German history and one of the greatest statesmen of the epoch of imperialism. He was the unite of the German Empire and his first "iron chancellor", (1871-1890).

He was governed by the principle of force and diplomacy in politics. Combining the interests of feudal aristocracy and big capitalists, he sought to spread German power and limit the influence of France, the main German enemy in Europe.
