for people who are interested in Russian and especially in SPb (Saint-Petersburg), i am showing you a picture of Alexander column which is the focal point of Palace Square. This column was named after Alexander I, the Russian emperor durinf 1801-1825. Interesting fact is that the column itself and the foundation are separate.
