The Nazi Health & Eugenics Program

in history •  8 years ago

I came across this informative video about a very controversial topic. I think anyone interested in history would find the information in this video fascinating.

What strikes me the most was what the man at minute 1:50 says:

"It's often claimed today that it was the national socialists who forced or persuaded German doctors to take up genetic biology and racial hygiene. That is simply untrue. It was not the doctors who were persuaded by the national socialists, it was the other way around."

What's your take on it?

Interesting stuff, historically. But it doesn't matter who came up first with the genetic issue, more important is, what came out of all that. One can appreciate healthy young people, however when it becomes a bloody ideology (Master Race...), something is wrong. Nowadays the term race for human beings is officially out of date and that is great.
